One of the most underrated features of a smartphone is the ability to record voice calls. While some of the original equipment manufacturers such as OnePlus, Xiaomi and Huawei make sure to include this feature in their Android version, it is not available on Android. For me, call recording is a very important feature since it helps me save important conversations that I may want to refer to later. It also makes it easy for me to discuss my ideas with colleagues on calls since I know that everything we did was brainstorming is safely stored on my phone. If for these reasons or for your own reasons, you need to record calls on your Android device, there are some really good applications present in the Play Store that allow you to do exactly that.
Note: Since most of the apps on the list share an almost similar name, be sure to download the apps from the provided links only. Also, call recording is illegal in some countries, like the US, so remember to check your country’s status before you download and use any of these apps.
Best Call Recorder for Android in 2020
Before entering this article, let’s first clarify some things. After the Android Pie update, Google has strictly restricted call recording. This makes it difficult for applications to record calls clearly. In our tests, Cube Call Recorder was the only Call Recorder for Android that worked perfectly on Stock Android, OnePlus, Xiaomi and other phones where we tested it. The application worked even on Android phones with Android 10.
As for other applications, some of them were working on Stock Android, some on Samsung and others on OnePlus. So, the bottom line is that you must install the applications and verify if it works on your device or not. I suggest you start using “Cube Call Recorder ACR” and then move on to other applications if it doesn’t work.
Also, be sure to grant the permissions requested by these applications if you want to record calls. For the best recording experience, open the Application Settings and select “Voice Recognition Software” as the input option instead of the default “Voice Call” options. Be sure to go through the Application Settings and configure it to get the best recording experience. So, now that you know what to do, let’s go to our list, okay?
1. Cube Call Recorder ACR
Cube Call Recorder ACR is the only application on this list that not only allows you to record your normal phone calls but also calls from various VoIP services, including Skype, Viber, WhatsApp, Hangouts, Facebook, IMO, Line, Slack, Telegram and more. That said, VoIP call recording is not compatible with all devices, so you must install the application to see if the function works on your device or not. The best part of this application is that it is completely free and does not offer any ads while recording calls. With Cube Call Recorder for Android ACR, you get one of the best call recording experiences completely free.

2. Call Recorder – ACR
Call Recorder – ACR is another great application that worked on almost every device I tried it on. Like Automatic Call Recorder, the application can track your incoming and outgoing calls and record them without having to do anything. The best part of using this application is that it is one of those applications that simply work. The application also supports multiple stores in the cloud, including Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, FTP and WebDAV. Not only that, the application even allows you to directly send recorded calls to an email of your choice. You can use the application for free with ads or buy the pro version to remove all ads.

3. Automatic Call Recorder by Recorder & Smart Apps
With an average rating of 4.6 in the Play Store, Call Recorder By Recorder & Smart Apps is one of the most popular call recording applications in the Play Store and rightly so. The application records and organizes all your outgoing and incoming calls. You can configure the application to automatically save calls or ask each time a call ends. The “ask to save” function helps reduce the number of calls stored on your phone and ensures that only important calls are saved. Although it does not support cloud storage, it does allow you to share recorded calls through Dropbox, Google, Skype and more. The application is free to use with ads. There is a pro version that removes ads completely.
Another call recorder for android phone is Truecaller. most of us know Truecaller as a call identification application that allows us to identify unknown numbers. However, not many of us know that Truecaller also offers a call recording feature that is quite good. I am a Truecaller fan, since it not only allows me to know who is calling me, but also prevents me from receiving spam calls. Therefore, having the call recording function included with the Truecaller application is a great help for me. If you also use the Truecaller application, instead of using any other application on this list, you can use it to record all your calls. That said, keep in mind that the call recording feature is not free and is part of the Truecaller premium plan, which costs ₹ 49 / month.
However, before deciding to pay for the function, you can use the free 14-day trial to verify it. The free trial is very important since not all Android devices are compatible. You will have to install and use the application to see if your phone is compatible or not. You can check our article on how to use Truecaller to record calls, which also includes a list of compatible and unsupported verified devices. I tried the call recording feature on my OnePlus 3 and it worked perfectly. I had one of the best call recording experiences and, therefore, I recommend this application to anyone who wants to record calls on their Android device.

This allows you to adjust your call recording so that the application is not full of unwanted call recordings. Whichever option you choose, you always have the ability to manually record a call. Like some of the other applications on this list, it allows you to save your recordings in MP3 format and move them to an SD card or upload them to Google Drive.
